| Meal Delivery Volunteers deliver meals to people who are homebound throughout Rockland County. Our goal is to furnish meals to all who qualify to prevent them from going to bed hungry. |
| Commissary volunteers help prepare and package meals that go out to our homebound, senior centers and adult day care programs. Volunteers can gain useful job skills while helping neighbors in the community. |
| Meals on Wheels has a partnership with local businesses that display and collect donations for our programs. Coin box volunteers represent our Agency making regular coin box collections, which are used, in our general operating fund. |
| Music Maker volunteers are part of a wonderful older adult singing troupe which performs musical reviews for various groups around Rockland. The Music Makers bring music and cheer wherever they perform. |
| Volunteers who visit the Senior Centers do a myriad of things including serve lunch, perform, provide educational programs, sing-a-longs, assist with arts and crafts, manicures, board and card games, etc. |
| Volunteers at the Bobbi Lewis and Intergenerational Adult Day Programs do many of the same recreational activities with the participants as they do at the Senior Centers, however, the participants in the Adult Day programs are frail and activities are geared to enhance cognitive and physical skills. |
| Volunteers help with many critical tasks that are essential to the Agency. You may be asked to help sort newsletters and other items for bulk mailing, or may put together brochures, information packets, count coin box receipts, and other administrative duties. |
| SeniorNet volunteers instruct and coach computer classes taught to adults of all ages. Generally, there is one instructor and two coaches assigned to each class of eight students. Classes sessions run two hours once per week for eight weeks or two hours twice per week for four weeks, depending on the semester schedule. Volunteers may also assist with administrative mailings or serve on various committees including curriculum, web site and long range planning. |
