The Rand Family

Thirty years ago, Marsha Rand opened a new real estate brokerages in a small house right on Main Street in New City. From that one tiny office, Better Homes and Gardens Rand Realty has grown into one of the premier real estate brokers in the region, comprising 25 offices, over 800 agents, and closing almost $2 billion in real estate volume annually throughout the New York metropolitan area. According to REALTOR magazine, Rand Realty is one of the 75 largest real estate brokerages in the entire country.

Indeed, from its origins as a small residential broker, the Rand organization now offers a full range of professional real estate services, including commercial real estate brokerage through Rand Commercial Services and mortgage, title, and home insurance services through the Hudson United family of companies. And as the company has grown, so has the Rand family, with Marsha's sons Matt, Joseph, and Dan now running the day-to-day operations of what is one of the largest and most successful family-owned and -operated real estate brokerages and home services companies in the country.

Even as the Rand organization has grown, though, the Rand family and the extended family of agents and employees have retained a deep commitment to the local communities they serve. The Rands themselves have been intimately involved in numerous local nonprofit and philanthropic organizations, including leadership positions with the regional American Red Cross, United Hospice of Rockland, People to People, and the Rockland Community College Foundation. And the Rands have been regularly honored for this commitment both personally and as a family, receiving awards from the Rockland Development Council, the regional Salvation Army, People to People, the regional American Cancer Society, and Westchester Magazine, which named Marsha Rand one of its Women of the Year in 2013. And the hundreds of Rand Realty agents and employees support and contribute to myriad local causes throughout the region.
